The radioactive waste sites require a multidisciplinary research to work on nuclear issues in the world of tomorrow.
Places called 'laboratories', more accurately designed as conceptual proposals, are located within the perimeter of the storage site. They contribute to the design of markers in the landscape and their update in order to pass on memory. Through experimentations, new ideas come to light for the safety of the living world.
The drawings presented here relate to archaeological sites and other specific places that I visited and photographed and reflect the maintained connection with past civilizations.
Artificial Hill, From the series ‘Laboratories’, 2013, Limited edition (20 copies), 63 × 90 cm
An artificial hill is built. A tunnel and several pathways lead to laboratories. These are cone-shaped structures located beside a metal structured pyramid open to the landscape.
Cylindrical markers surrounded by concentric paths evoke waves on the grass cover.
In these laboratories, composers, videographers, engineers and dancers take turns to coordinate their discoveries.
Colours of Danger, From the series ‘Laboratories’, 2013, Limited edition (20 copies), 63 × 90 cm
On the surface of the site, a point of view allows to discover eight colourful circles.
Concrete or glazed earthen esplanades reveal the intersections of underground galleries housing the waste. Pathways link them.
At the location of one of the circles, a laboratory surmounted by a colourful glass dome is erected, symbolizing waste degradation over time. This memorial welcomes researchers who study the image or the most appropriate marker to echo, to reflect what is moving in the shadow, and so giving it a visibility to the landscape.
Metallic Defensive Cones, From the series ‘Laboratories, 2013, Limited edition (20 copies), 63 × 90 cm
These are large areas, like spots in the landscape that will need to be secured.
Cones with rods drawn to a point simulate spaces that will become dangerous in a very distant time. Metal captures the sunlight and the moon.
Nearby, in this laboratory, the human, in front of this show, will make every effort, using science and one’s imagination, to open a new era.
Le BÂT/LAB s’inscrit dans le laboratoire, lieu d’étude, d’information, de recherche. C’est dans ce bâtiment à l’architecture spécifique que s’expérimentent les modes de transmission de la mémoire dans le temps long.

These offset plates were all salvaged and served to print many books. They are reworked. They raise the question of transforming the memory of low-level radioactive waste site and their possible rupture: organised or involuntary amnesia, destruction in the wake of a natural disaster, the breakdown of the intended transmission chain, curiosity for the stars at the expense of our Blue Planet. The texts engraved on the original frame have vanished, leaving room for the play of forms that suggests a new interpretation. The first information has disappeared, and uncertainity is raised concerning the data on the sites of high-level radioactive waste. The broadest possible range of memory transmission methods is therefore imperative.

Elle interpelle sur la nécessaire inscription de cette préoccupation dans la conscience collective.
